The grapes used in the production of Dow’s Fine Ruby were a blend of traditional Portuguese varieties from the Douro Valley. Dow’s Fine Ruby was aged in seasoned oak casks at our lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia for an average of 3 years, and bottled when ready to drink.

Palate: Raspberry, cherry nuts, blackberry, cinnamon, choclate oak and prune.
Finish: Bold velvet taste with a long finish, good acidity and tannic bite.

Nice dark yet aged colour. Deep aroma and taste of raisin raspberry prune cherry red fruit oak vanilla honey blackberry black fruit caramel. Full bodied smell, mouthfeel and taste. Nice and fruity port. Add in a bit of hot water on a cold winters night - CJ Lee
